24Flow Winter '26 Release

We are excited to announce the 24Flow Winter '26 release which is packed with new features! A few highlights:

  • The winter release introduces the long-awaited MCT (manufacturing critical path time) module. It graphically represents your production lead time, where you spend value added activity and where you loose time waiting.

  • 24Planning comes with a brand new GANTT chart view, ideal for companies working on a project basis, such as many engineer-to-order (ETO) companies.

  • The Team Cockpit has been extended with Team Cockpit Actions, a very nice way to have multiple action buttons, e.g. for starting, stopping or pausing orders or for accessing additional information.

Read on to learn more about these and other platform features!

MCT module

MCT (Manufacturing Critical Path Time) is a time-based metric that allows you to measure production lead time. It is an important metric as a lot of indirect production costs are related to lead time and lead time reduction also helps in improving cost, quality and on-time delivery.

Typically, the MCT is assessed for a part of the enterprise and in the context of 24Flow for the shopfloor.

The MCT is visualized via an MCT map, and 24Flow allows you to build such MCT maps based on the data captured throughout the production process.

The MCT map serves as a tool to better understand the lead time and identify areas for improvement.

In an MCT map (see below example), gray space identifies the time someone is actually working on an order. On the contrary, white space is the time nothing happens to an order. In a manufacturing context, gray space is typically less than 5% of MCT.

24Flow’s MCT map is flexible and supports a wide range of scenarios:

  • Production processes with sequential steps.

  • Production processes with a mix of parallel and sequential steps.

  • Mix of suborders and assembly steps.

  • MCT maps for an individual order or for a group of orders.

24Planning

This winter release comes with a brand new GANTT chart module, ideal for companies that manage projects.

In addition to GANTT, we have extended the concept of non-working time. We have introduced two great new concepts:

  1. A new way to define unavailability of individual resources.

  2. The capability to schedule events that partly overlap with non-working time.

Read on to learn more!

24Planning Gantt Chart Module

24Planning now supports a Gantt chart view and the great thing is that it builds on the same concept of datasets and datasource that are used for the resource based view. Hence it provides the same flexibility:

  • It works with any Salesforce or custom object.

  • There is flexibility to customize the look and feel via custom fields, colour coding, etc.

  • You can generate 2 views on the same data: a resource-based view and a Gantt chart view.

The Gantt chart allows you to build:

  • hierarchies: e.g. a product consists of tasks that in turn consist of subtasks.

  • dependencies: e.g. a task cannot start before another tasks has finished.

  • milestones: project milestones have the same start and end date.

  • The Gantt Chart allows you to move around events, dependencies are automatically evaluated and events are shift were needed.

  • The Gantt chart can also highlight the critical path (red line above).

  • Tasks progress can be monitored, e.g. Task2 above is 70% finished.

Defining Unavailability of Individual Resources

24Planning already supported the concept of Work Schedules and Work Schedule Lines. These are a great way to define working hours and public holidays. The concept also allows for shifts, i.e. each shift has its own work schedule and a field on the resource links to the appropriate shift work schedule.

We have now complemented this with Resource Availability. In the Resource Availability configuration, you define a custom object that holds information on unavailability of individual resources, e.g. absences or holidays of employees or downtime of individual machines.

You can combine Work Schedules and Resource Availability in a single deployment.

Scheduling events that partly overlap with non-working time

Previously, it was not possible to schedule events that partly overlap with non-working time.

Now we have introduced a new scheduling mode called Duration. It changes the behaviour as follows.

Assume you have a 3 hour event that starts at 4pm on Tue. Let’s assume the workday ends at 5pm and commences again on Wednesday at 9am. Then the event will be displayed as starting on 4pm on Tue and ending at 11am on Wednesday, i.e. 24Planning automatically recomputes the event duration such that the work can be spread across multiple days, with non-working time in between.

As a consequence, it is no longer required to split events to fit over multiple days, 24Planning will automatically extend the event total duration, taking into account non-working time.

Read-only Permission Set

We have added a new permission set for 24Planning, specific for read-only users. These users can consult one or multiple dataset in the planning board but are not allowed to update events via 24Planning.

Team Cockpit Actions

The Winter Release allows you to define more inline actions in the Team Cockpit.

To keep the Team Cockpit easy to use, you can make use of icons and toggle for long text. The Team Cockpit Settings page support various layouts, alignments, color codes, filters as well the capability to define new action buttons. Learn more about this new capability here.

New Team Cockpit Components

We keep on extending our set of standard Team Cockpit components that can be integrated in any Team Cockpit. In the Winter Release, we added:

  • Barcode Scanner

  • Workload Graph

  • Andon Status

All these components are described in great detail here.

24Flow Barcode Scanner

The 24Flow Barcode Scanner can be used for fast data capture, and is ideal for e.g. production or warehouse environments.

It allows users to scan or enter barcodes using either their device's camera or a manual text input. The Bar Code scanning component is used as part of Screen Flows that automatically trigger actions once the scanning operation has been done.

Workload Graph

24Flow now support a standard component (called Dynamic Graph) for workload visualization. This workload graph can be integrated in a Team Cockpit or on a (management) overview page with a workload overview of all teams.

Andon Component

Machine Andon Status is an LWC that tracks the live status of a linked machine by using platform events. A machine is an Equipment record with the record type Machine.

The Andon component consists of configurable sections as shown in the example below:

MTO Scheduling extensions

The 24Flow MTO module supports capacity-based scheduling.

The winter '26 release adds the capability to work with machine capacities that depend on additional parameters, e.g. some products can be produced faster on one machine than another.

Miscellaneous

  • The 24Flow Winter '26 release comes with the new Salesforce branding, Lightning Design System 2.

  • Competence Management: It is now possible to add new competence levels or change the description of competence levels via Custom Metadata Types.
